Some Words of Wisdom

The following was by Pastor Martin Niemoller

First They came --

First they came for the communists,
and I did not speak out -
because I was not a communist.

Then they came for the socialists,
and I did not speak out -
because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I did not speak out -
because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I did not speak out -
because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

The above poem, “First They Came” should stand as a stern warning against complacency.

If one person's liberties and rights are circumscribed, no one's liberties and rights are safe from the same action.

It is up to each of us to realize that we are all just a whim away from being deprived of all these things we take for granted.
